I can't beleive you are starting your 8th month...this pregnancy seemed to go by pretty fast. How is R taking to your baby belly? Does she comment about how you are having a baby? Is she excited about being an older sister? Tiff
tiff-- I still don't think R really gets the whole having a baby thing. Sometimes I pull up my shirt to show her the belly (especially when the baby is moving around a lot and you can see it changing shape) and she always tells me to "close my shirt." She hasn't been very interested in talking to the belly, either. But supposedly she's talked about the baby at day care, so who knows. And every time we ask her, she says she's having a little sister.
Mom S.-- I agree, I think the belly looks bigger! But not as dramatically bigger as I expected, to be honest. I've gained about 10 lbs less at this point than I had with R, so that's kind of interesting.
You are looking fabulous! I was wondering...how did the morning sickness compare with this pregnancy? I think I'll probably gain less the 2nd time around only because it isn't physically possible to gain more...haha.
Also, with R, have you read her any books to kind of prepare her? I saw some books at Xander's school all about introducing a younger sibling.
ConceptALT--the morning sickness was actually just different this time around. I'd say it was a little worse this time but I was all-around sicker (just nauseous, not feeling good, laying around being miserable) although last time I had more difficulty with food and more vomiting. (sorry that was probably TMI! haha!)
and the weight gain has been funny because last time I was stricter and more careful about my diet, and I exercised a lot more. I saw the pictures you recently posted from your phone and was just thinking how fit you looked!
as for books for R, no-- not yet. I've wanted to get a "big sister" book for her for awhile but we just haven't made it to a Borders or B&N to find one yet, and I haven't ordered off of Amazon yet. I should get on that! :) I've seen some really cute ones and we even got a "Big Brother" book for our nephew that I thought was quite good, so it's definitely a good idea.
