Clapping

Clapping is one of R's favorite things to do. She claps whenever she hears "Bingo" or "If You're Happy and You Know It" playing on her CD player (in fact, this is usually how I figure out that one of those two songs is playing, because she'll stop what she's doing and clap).

This afternoon she was standing in her room digging some blocks out of a box, and I said to her, "R, clap those blocks together!" and what do you know, she started clapping!

It's really exciting to see that she's starting to understand what you say to her and react to it accordingly. So much fun. And her clapping is too adorable.

She's walking circles around the living room now. Speaking of which, on another "isn't this adorable?" note, she likes to walk towards us and then give us a big hug when she arrives! And she gives kisses! Sooo cute.

Today J let her play with a comb, with which she immediately started trying to comb her own hair. She had fun combing my hair, too. She's interacting with all sorts of things in new ways, and starting to really imitate everything we do. She certainly wants whatever we're eating. If there's some kind of food on the table that's not on her high chair tray, you better believe she wants it.
