R's second day of daycare started off a little rough. She walked around a little bit while I dropped off her food and milk in the fridge and her extra diapers, etc. in her little cubby. Then she saw me while I was talking to the daycare director on my way out and wanted me to pick her up. She got pretty upset when I didn't hold her but just kissed her and said I loved her and started to walk out. On my way out I heard her screaming.
Not my favorite way to start the morning!
But when J picked her up, the teacher said she had been really good and she was just really tired for us because she didn't nap during naptime. When she got home, she took her nap and was mostly fine for the rest of the day, although pretty clingy to me.

It is so hard starting a new daycare. Abby always walks me to the door that first week and says, "go!" as in "let's go!" And then I have to tell her that no, mama go, Abby stay.
ReplyDeleteEven though it's still hard, it sounds like she's slowly adjusting to the new routine - and it sounds like she's busy and having fun there!
ReplyDeleteCraftyQueen, that sounds hard! does she cry, usually, or is she okay after you explain it to her?
ReplyDeletet, she *is* adjusting, which is really heartening. I'll just be glad when she seems to be happy when we drop her off rather than sad that we're leaving... you know?
