First, we stopped in a cute-as-heck little town in Pennsylvania to visit my college friend H. We had a visit full of laughs, it was so great to catch up in person!!
Then we headed up north to Grammie and Grampie's, and we started off the fun on Thursday by going shopping, hitting Trader Joe's and Target (oh, Target, how I love you). Grammie and I stole R for a little bit in the afternoon and went to the Farmer's Market. We had fun showing R the black-eyed Susans and watching her explore. 
When we got home, we let her run through the sprinklers and gave her a fauxhawk.
On Friday, Grammie and I took R to a consignment store and bought her one of these.On Saturday, we partied at GiGi and PopPop's.
Sunday was a wild-n-crazy day. We'd planned to go to a local park that had a nice lake and beach where you could go swimming. But it turned out that with all the different fees--for entering the park, and the per-person cost for getting on the beach--it would have cost us $66, for what we had anticipated would be about half an hour of hanging out and watching R splash around. No way. So we left and headed out to lunch a little early.
R fell asleep on the way to the restaurant.
Grammie put two different pairs of shoes on and didn't even notice until after she'd already walked across the parking lot and gone inside the restaurant to order!!
The meal wasn't the best-- we'd had high expectations but the food was just okay. Grammie and Grampie say that dinner is much better, so we'll try and go back another time. After lunch, Grampie showed R the view from the restaurant parking lot.
Then we tried a different--free--park with a sprinkler set-up and let R run around a bit.
After the sprinkler, she found a big stick.
Grampie found a bigger stick.
They both ran around with their sticks for a bit and then we headed home.Whew. It was a great trip, and we had a terrific time. We're already looking forward to Grammie and Grampie coming back down over Labor Day weekend!
